Opinion: The fight in Bridgeport

This video came out and had my Facebook goin' nuts as GROWN people were talkin shit to these 15 and 16 year olds about putting a old fashion 7 against 1 beating on someone behind a school. Then on a closer look I see its from a few blocks from my house, I definitely don't agree with what happened but the outrage that I seen and heard thats buzzing the last few days from GROWN adults sayin "I cant wait to see these lil fuckers I'm gonna" do this or do that, I say how does THAT make you a better person? Because you want revenge on lil kids? I am sure every grown person has had their "oh shit, have you seen that" moment in there early teen years and would feel like dying if anyone saw it or knew about it and they might have even ended up locked up for it, so lets not crucify lil kids. They made a mistake that's causing them to be thrown in county jail and hated and their families might have to move out of the neighborhood. This is not another Bridgeport race issue either since 3 of the 7 children are of Asian decent. So Youtube.... Great for most..... Horrible for some

GLC ft. Rotimi - "Back to the Money" (Official Music Video)

GLC ft. Rotimi - "Back to the Money" (Official Music Video) Beyonce may have delivered the first baby in the music industry this year but GLC has delivered a gem of his own with "Back to the Money" featuring the slick & smooth vocals of Rotimi. GLC and Rotimi show how collaborations should be done. The great visuals of Chi-Town alone and make this a must see video. Let's hope this is the first of many hot tracks from Chicago artists in 2012.

Common vs. Drake, Beef Part 3

If you know Duece McKracken you would know I love a good beef. Drake responded with a song with Ross and Meek Mills but Common's remix just took the beef to a new level. Chicago cat vs a Canadian cat? hmmmm Chi Town all the way....

Welcome to the World BLUE!!!: Jay Z & Beyonce celebrate the birth of baby girl Blue Ivy !!!

It's a Girl!!!! Bey has given birth to her baby girl tonight at Lennox Hill hospital in NYC under the name Ingrid Jackson. The power couple is said to have rented out the 4th floor of the hospital for a total of $1.3 MILLION!! that's one heck of a delivery. Rihanna also took to TWITTER to CONGRATULATE the couple on their new bundle of joy:

"Welcome to the world princess Carter! Love Aunty Rih"

I am happy for the couple and I wish them all the best of luck and congratulations on a healthy baby girl. Now I just hope they don't try to hide the identity of the baby, because they know we are all waiting on the 1st picture and the name is already rumored to be Ivy Blue or Blue Ivy Carter. Many have already took to twitter with jokes about their new addition belonging to the #Illuminati. They have even gone as far as creating a twitter page for the NEW BORN!! This may be the most FAMOUS baby in the WORLD!! I mean she's already featured on a track with her pops Mr. ROC (Jay-Z) titled "GLORY"!!! How many Newborns you know on a Jay-Z track or any track for that matter. Doesn't get any BIGGER than that!!!

What do you think?

The #ism himself came out to The Ultra Lounge last weekend to release a few of his NEW videos. Everyone came out to support GLC including Chicago’s own Twista and his CMG family. Cold Hard of Crucial Conflict, JNAN and host J’Lynn were also in attendance. The night included performances by Kurfew, Implicit, Trell Love, and final closing performance by GLC. Ultra Lounge was filled wall to wall with fans ready to see GLC’s performance as well as the release of his NEW Videos.

Urban Grind TV snapped a few pics and grabbed a few interviews from artists who came out to support the artist of the night. GLC took time out to interview with UGTV and our host Princess. The conversation got pretty wild but you will have to tune into Urban Grind TV to catch out what GLC had to say on a certain topic. (LOL)

Common The Dreamer/ Believer Review

Before I START I have to say that I absolutely LOVE COMMON!!!...Not only is he SEXY...LOL but he is also VERY TALENTED!! The following tracks make up Common's 9th ALBUM: The Dreamer, The Believer, a very motivational album with a few tracks that may not be that motivational but are still easy to listen too. Common had a little help from Maya Angelou on "The Dreamer", Nas on "Ghetto Dreams", and John Legend on The Believer “ and also his father who added a little inspiration at the end of the album. The Dreamer feat- Maya Angelou Ghetto Dreams- feat Nas Blue Sky So Sweet Gold Lovin' I Lost Raw (How You Like It) Cloth Celebrate Windows The Believer-feat John Legend Pops Belief Although I haven't made it through the entire CD yet, I have to say I really love the album so far. Common is full of talent and is still very humble. His album opens with a poetic touch from Maya Angelou who says: "Let Us Dare to Dream" and ends with a poem from his father who says, "Dreams Come True, Live the Life You Dream". Both of these sayings touched me and made me feel like it's OK to dream and I can do anything. "I LOVE IT." This album is def a must have and I am excited to listen to the rest of the tracks, I'm sure I won't be disappointed! -SHANEIKA SPEAKS

32 MORE CHAPTERS of “Trapped In The Closet”?!

GUESS WHO BIZACK!!!...LOL It's the Pied Piper and he isn't empty handed. R.Kelly is said to release 32 more CHAPTERS of the drama filled hip-hopera "Trapped In The Closet". There's only one thing missing, says Kellz. ...MONEY!! "It costs a lot of money to do it," Kelly explained to TMZ, "so we're actually looking for investors." Looks like Money is an issue for everybody right now. When R. Kelly started this back in 2005 who knew it would turn into 22 Chapters. Leaving us with a cliffhanger is unfair. I want to know what happens NEXT. Kellz also explained how he came up with the whole "Trapped in the Closet" saga. "Trapped in the Closet is [about] me being silly and not having a job and having nothing else to do, and sitting around in the studio," Kelly said. "I've always wanted to be a movie director ... and [this is] pretty much my movie director seeping out through my music." I don't know about you but I'm a little excited about more 'Trapped In The Closet". #shrug What about you?!

A Night out with Urban Grind TV: Johnny P, J-Lyn and Coldhard

Last week the Urban Grind TV team set out for a night of entertainment. First stop being the Midwest City Record Pool at Subterranean. This event was hosted by (@youngwayne00) who kept the crowd super entertained in between acts. The club was filled with artists and their fans that were ready to hear their favorite tracks.
UGTV interviewed a few of the performers and also got footage of our own HOST Xxtra’s (@_xxtra) live performance. However, the HIGHLIGHT of the whole night was my interview with Chicago’s own legendary singer Johnny P (@johnnypmusic). I grew up to this “Johnny P” and “Do or Die” and I actually got a chance to interview him. (Sorry I just had a moment)…LOL

Had a blast at SUB-T but that was only the beginning of a long night. Next stop was J-Lynn (@jlynn) video premiere party at Ultra Lounge. The talented songstress debut her new video “HouseMaid” (which I love by the way) to a jammed packed audience. This was my first time watching J-Lyn perform and she did an amazing job. She had all of the guys goin’ crazy with her very sexy live performance.

J-Lynn also had a special performance with Crucial Conflict’s own Coldhard.

If you missed J-Lynn, you can check out the video here.

To cap the night off UGTV ran into a street cypher which turned into a rap battle between multiple guys including Xxtra.

Now that’s how you end a night with Urban Grind TV.

Urban Grind TV Vol 1 Mixtape Release Party @ Reggie’s

How can I describe Wednesday night at Reggie’s?? How about ZOO!! Although the word (ZOO) is an understatement, it will have to do for now. Urban Grind TV did it AGAIN!!
Although, I served as the Stage Manager for the night, I still got to see snippets of the CRAZY show. UGTV had a jam packed show full of your favorite Chicago artists. The lineup included artists like J. Silva, CTF, Tommy Gibbs, Skooda Choose, Gwop, Xxtra, Slick the Young Titan, Rello and Aisha Roynae. We also had some very special performances from Marvo, Xxtra, Dat Boy Hot, WildStyle of Chicago’s own Crucial Conflict and Bo Deal. We also had not 1….not…2 but…4 DJ’s in the building, DJ Phantom, DJ Slugo, DJ Sean Mac and our in house DJ Mos Def who kept our audience dancing all night. The whole Do or Die group including AK, Belo, Nard & Johnny P was also in the building showing #LUV.
UGTV’s Young Wayne & Sunni Valentine were hosting the party and kept the action going so there was never a dull moment. However, the highlight of the night was the amazing performance from WildStyle who was joined by all the original members of Crucial Conflict, along with their own DJ QBall. They absolutely murdered the stage and had the crowd going WILD!! The group performed new music along with our Chi-town favs like “Hay”. WildStyle also showed the crowd he had more to give and did a free-style that had everyone in the building ROCKIN’. Wild Style’s performance left the stage Smokin’.
The Urban Grind TV VOL 1 Mixtape Release Party brought everyone out on a WORK NIGHT to party and celebrate the release of the UGTV Mixtape. The mixtape features hot track (I Get It In) produced by J. Remy and featuring artists Marvo, GLC, Xxtra, and Slick the Young Titan. The video for this track was also shot by UGTV’s own 1913 Films.
Overall, everyone did an amazing job. Shouts out to all the performing artists, the fans that came out and the whole UGTV staff for making this event possible.
Can’t wait for VOL 2 Mixtape, What about You?
Be sure to stay tuned to Urban Grind TV Wednesday's @ 11pm for the video of the performances @ the Urban Grind TV Mixtape Release Party and more!
